As a member of the House Education Committee, with a chance to review recent proposed regulations in state academic standards, I took that obligation seriously and joined Reps. Joe D’Orsie (R-York) and Barb Gleim (R-Cumberland) in penning a letter to the Independent Regulatory Review Commission. On several fronts, the proposed regulatory changes miss proven facts and open the door for misperceptions. My focus, as I dug into the standards changes, was on economics, finance and money.
